Employer Relations and Talent Partnerships

At Johns Hopkins University, I serve as one of the outbound employer relations specialist across 10 schools including Business, International Studies, Public Health, Education, Engineering, and PhD Programs.

My work is equal parts business development and relationship management: identifying the right companies, building trust with recruiters and hiring managers, and converting cold conversations into lasting partnerships.

I've built pipelines domestically and internationally, run user research with C-suite executives, and grown the employer brand of one of the world's leading universities

The Data Speaks for Itself

London and The Netherlands

Energy, Finance, and Global Risk

Student interest in European opportunities, especially in energy, finance, humanitarian work, and tech, was super clear. However, there wasn’t much institutional support back it up. I took the same approach as the UAE campaign: I researched the scene, found some VP-level alumni in London and the Netherlands, and reached out to them those sectors.

We ended up with over twenty meetings, and six employers jumped on board for a dedicated internship pipeline campaign. The highlight was organizing a three-week trip with  Johns Hopkins' School of Advanced International Studies , where my team got to meet with recruiters and alumni at Shell, ASML, ING, PwC, and Octopus Energy to pitch the program in person.

That trip only happened because we laid the groundwork. Building relationships before asking for commitments is my go-to strategy for this kind of work.

At JHU, we recognized a significant gap in employer presence in the UAE, and we were ready to address it. Students showed strong interest in AI, tech, and finance, yet there were no institutional relationships to leverage.

My team and I took the initiative to conduct thorough research on UAE work culture, identify sectors actively hiring internationally, and connect with JHU alumni already making strides in the region. Following that, I executed a focused cold outreach campaign directed at AI and tech companies.

The result was impressive: over 20 meetings with key employers, including Verition Fund, the World Bank, and the Abu Dhabi Prime Minister's Office, leading to more than 8 formal program partnerships.

User Research

I had the opportunity to engage in insightful conversations with VP and C-suite alumni from well-known firms like Barclays, Carlyle Group, Wells Fargo, Vanguard, BlackRock, Fidelity, Jefferies, and KKR. During these interviews, we explored the skills students need to thrive in the finance industry, delved into the current state of the hiring market, discussed how university career services can enhance their support for student success. After gathering all the valuable insights, I compiled them into a comprehensive findings report and presented it to JHU leadership.
